Most people are surprised to learn that there were 39 Wisconsin Prisoner of War (POW) camps in Wisconsin during WWII, housing a total of approximately 20,000 POWs. In this presentation, learn about POW camps in the United States and Wisconsin during WWII. Explore the fascinating stories of the people were once prisoners in a POW camp, worked side-by-side with POWs, and those who now live in a community that had a POW camp. You will find this presentation informative, educational, and entertaining!

About the Presenter
Bob Block is a resident of Oregon, Wisconsin. He retired after working with the Wisconsin Crime Lab in Madison, Wisconsin for 34 years as head of the drug identification unit having testified in courts over 500 times as an expert witness.
Bob is an active member of the Oregon Area Historical Society and has an interest in historic topics.
