Program Description

For adults.

If you like photography, being outside, or wilderness travel, this discussion is for you. John Bonsett-Veal will bring his collection of photography equipment and his decades of experience to this talk/workshop/interactive forum. This will be an opportunity to discuss photographic technology, see, touch and feel various cameras of different levels of technology and learn about image capture and manipulation with area resident, John Bonsett-Veal.

About the Speaker
John Bonsett-Veal began his study of photography and the optics of printing in the darkroom at age nine, under the tutelage of the staff of the Indiana University Photographic Laboratory, which was under the supervision of his father, Ralph Veal. John worked for several years as a professional photographer, both during the years of his undergraduate studies at Indiana University and as a sports photographer for IU Sports during his years of study at the Indiana University School of Optometry. It was during his travel with the IU football and basketball teams that he discovered the charms of Madison, Wisconsin.

John served the City of Madison as an optometrist for just over 41 years, starting in the fall of 1980, He has served Oregon Cable Access, (OCA Media) as the president of that organization for 25 years, during which time he additionally provided play by play sports announcing for the Oregon High School Boys Hockey team as well as announcing for girls basketball at OHS. John has been the Oregon Summerfest Parade announcer since 1991.
