Program Description

Storytelling is one of the most powerful forces in human life. It shapes how we see ourselves, how we understand others, and how we make meaning of the world around us. Oregon videographer Frank Caruso explores impact stories have in our everyday lives and in our community.

Drawing from a personal childhood experience that first revealed the emotional power of storytelling, Frank reflects on how that moment grew into a passion for capturing real stories through film. Through reflections on community, connection, and the human experience, this presentation reveals how storytelling can uplift, heal, and bring people closer together.

More than just a craft for filmmakers, storytelling is something we all participate in. This talk invites audiences to see the stories around them, and within them, with new awareness, and to recognize the power a single story can have to change how someone feels about their life.

About the Presenter
Frank has written, directed, and even starred in feature independent films. He shares part of his writing process and his theories behind the importance of storytelling and why he's so passionate about it. Frank is the social media coordinator with OCA Media.
