All AgesProgram Description
An all ages event. No registration required.
A Bioblitz is citizen science project that collects information about our local plant and wildlife. Using your smartphone or tablet and the community science app, iNaturalist, transform Lerner Park into a living laboratory!
Meet up at the library with your phone or tablet and use the free app iNaturalist. Explore Lerner Park or Keller Alpine Meadows to make photo observations about insects, plants, and animals that you see. Photo observations are instantly uploaded into the global database, where species are identified by the millions-strong iNaturalist community. The data is used by real conservationists and researchers who study species health and biodiversity. Water, snacks, wildlife notebooks available as long as supplies last.
Already have the iNaturalist App? Participate in the BioBlitz anytime on July 13 and add your observations to our event in iNaturalist.
At 10 am enjoy a special Saturday Storytime with Ms. Kelly.
Rain date: July 27
